On a very sunny and beautiful Sunday afternoon we hosted nearly 70 St Mary's families at the very first 'Grandparents' Tea'. Our current pupils invited their grandparents, god parents, relatives and friends to join them for a tour of school and afternoon tea.
Guests enjoyed refreshments in the beautiful Lime Kiln garden whilst listening to their granddaughters' musical performances and then were taken on a tour of school. The girls were able to show their families their dorms, classrooms and favourite spots as well as the Art Department, Library and games pitches.
Afternoon Tea was served from the dining hall and guests sat outside in the warm sunshine, enjoying delicious sandwiches, scones & cakes - with so many commenting that it was ".... better than the Ritz" which made Mrs Thomas very pleased!
Dr Kirk was delighted to welcome so many families to St Mary's - it truly was a delightful afternoon of celebration, and we hope to make this a biennial event for all our families to enjoy.
