Amazing week of fundraising for Lyme Disease

We have hosted an amazing week of fundraising for Lyme Disease UK - supporting the Watling family with their incredible efforts to support this important cause.

This year the LVI Charity Committee lead the St Mary's community in raising funds for Lyme Disease UK.

Yasmin (2017 Leaver) is recovering from Lyme Disease and her father John, inspired by her journey, will be 'winning his own race' later this year by taking on an epic challenge to row across the Atlantic in order to raise awareness and support this important charity.

In school the LVI are leading a whole host of activites throughout the week. Two highlights are the Open Mic Night on tomorrow evening (click here for tickets) and the 24 hour sponsored tennis coachathon.

Mr Jonthan Hayes, Director of Tennis, supported by the team and students at both St Mary's and St Margaret's, played tennis for 24 hours, finishing this morning.  He played through the wind, rain, hail, exhaustion, and particulary enjoyed the late-night indoor neon tennis session! It was an amazing experience for everyone involved!

Lyme Disease UK is a relatively small charity and we look forward to welcoming the team at St Mary's. In addition to raising funds, it is our aim to raise awareness.

Please click here to sponsor our students and staff for the school events as well as John as he trains in anticipation of his epic challenge later this year.
