A group of us from the UVI were lucky enough to see our friend Elowen (UVI) perform in the leading role of Moll Cutpurse in Bristol Old Vic’s Young Company production of The Roaring Girl. This spectacular performance successfully breathed new life into a play originally written and set in the early 1600s.

Moll Cutpurse, the fearless protagonist, challenged societal norms of the Jacobean era by frequently donning men's breeches and boldly existing outside the established rules. It was truly thrilling to see Elowen playing such a striking role, skillfully bringing this rebellious character to life on stage.

Elowen's portrayal of Moll was nothing short of thrilling, as she skillfully brought this rebellious character to life on stage. The performance was elevated by an amazing supporting cast, many of whom made their professional debut, showcasing remarkable talent and dedication. Elowen was also the youngest member of the company and this definitely proved her talent for drama.

A massive congratulations to Elowen for all her sustained hard work in this endeavour, and I am sure it won't be long until we see her on the stage again.
