Congratulations to Beatrice C (UV), Bella (UV) and Sophie (MIV) on their winning entries to the Daunt Books Short Stories Competition. Well done also to Tashy (LVI) for reaching the long list in the Christopher Tower, Oxford University, Poetry Competition.

The Daunt Books Short Stories Competition was open to all children aged 4-15 from across the country, with the winning entries being compiled into a published anthology which, this year, will have an introduction from author and Carnegie Medal winner Katya Balen, and a front cover designed by illustrator and author Marion Deuchars.

The girls’ entries were taken from their submissions to the School’s Literalily creative writing competition, and we can’t wait to see what they do next. You can read their winning pieces here.

Last term, we announced that some of our Sixth Formers entered the prestigious Christopher Tower Poetry Competition, with this year’s theme being ‘The Planets’. Tashy’s poem Divinity was selected for the long-list: the top 10% of entries to the competition.

Well done to all of the girls who entered and special congratulations to Beatrice, Bella, Sophie and Tashy.

Our next competition focus will be on:
