Last week one of our singing teachers, Mr Harrison-Oram, stepped in at the last minute to perform Carmina Burana with the Calne Choral Society. Here, Mr Harrison-Oram reports on the experience:

'My wife, Johanna, was booked for her first concert since our children (twins!) arrived in December – a big moment! Sadly, Calne Choral’s baritone soloist was unwell on the day and, just when I was prepared to be a bottle feeding daddy-machine at home for the day, I was asked to step in at the last minute to be their soloist and the concert became a family affair. Carmina Burana was my first ever professional job when I was 21, and it is a work that is close to my heart: what a joy to share it with our boys!'

Mr Harrison-Oram is a valued member of the visiting vocal studies teaching team. Head of Vocal Studies, Mrs Bethan Dudley-Fryar, commented 'It is wonderful that we have a team of such high quality performers as excellent singing teachers. The team sings regularly at Bristol Cathedral and Bath Abbey, releases original recordings, supports young voices nationally and internationally and in demand for concert appearances. An exciting time for the singing at school as always!'
