ROYAL NATIONAL CHILDREN'S SPRINGBOARD FOUNDATION

ROYAL NATIONAL CHILDREN’S SPRINGBOARD FOUNDATION

The Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation creates life-changing educational opportunities for children and young people facing significant barriers. Working with schools, local authorities and community organisations, it helps care-experienced children and those from low-income communities access the stability, education and support they need to flourish.

St Mary’s Calne has worked in partnership with the Foundation since becoming an accredited SpringBoard school in 2017. Through this partnership, girls have joined the school on fully funded bursary places and become valued members of the St Mary’s community.

SUPPORT A SPRINGBOARD PUPIL

We are seeking sponsors to help more girls benefit from this opportunity. Your support can help fund their journey through St Mary’s and enable them to participate fully in the academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of the school.

To discuss supporting a SpringBoard pupil, please contact the Development and Alumni Relations Department.

The Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation works with boarding and independent schools across the UK to increase access to fully funded bursary places. These places cover school fees and essential extras, enabling pupils to participate fully in school life.

The Foundation works with local authorities, schools and community organisations to identify and prepare suitable pupils. It continues to support them throughout their placements, including during the school holidays and as they prepare for life beyond school.

SpringBoard placements can have a profound and lasting effect. They enable young people to:

• fulfil their academic and personal potential;

• develop the confidence and skills needed to pursue ambitious futures;

• make valuable contributions to their school communities;

• challenge stereotypes and inspire other young people; and

• become mentors, trustees and role models who raise aspirations within their families and communities.

Support continues after pupils leave school, helping SpringBoard alumni progress into higher education, employment and fulfilling careers.

Through this growing network of pupils, alumni, schools and community partners, the Foundation aims to strengthen social mobility and create opportunities that extend far beyond each individual placement.
